Bubble Bread

  • 1 C. Milk
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • 1/2 C. Sugar
  • 1/4 C. Shortening
  • 1 beaten Egg
  • 3 1/2 - 3 3/4 C. Flour
  • Scald milk and add 1/2 C. Sugar, salt & shortening, when lukewarm add yeast and stir until dissolved.
  • Stir in egg.
  • Add flour in 2 parts first mixing by spoon then by hand
  • Turn dough on lightly floured board
  • Cover and let stand 10 minutes
  • Knead until smooth and elastic.
  • Place in grease bowl, cover with damp cloath and set to rise until double in bulk
  • Punch down rise again
  • Let rest 15 minutes
  • Form balls and roll in butter and cinnamon-sugar
  • Place in Angel Food cake pan.
  • let rise
  • Bake 35 - 50 minutes at 375
